Mask Mandate Effective 7/25/2020

On July 22, 2020, Governor Walz issued an Emergency Executive Order 20-81 regarding the requirement of face masks in public buildings including non-profits. The Elder Board at Hope Church has reviewed the order and will comply with what has been set forth. An updated COVID19 Preparedness Plan has been approved by the Elder Board.

Effective Saturday, July 25, 2020, people attending worship services at Hope Church will be required to wear face masks. Signage requiring face masks will be posted at all entrances to the facility. Children who are five years old and under are not required to wear a face mask. Children over five years old are encouraged to wear a face mask or covering if they can do so in compliance with CDC guidance on How to Wear Cloth Face Coverings. Even if wearing a mask, try to maintain social distancing. Masks are available the weekend of July 25th and 26th. Due to the new mandate of face masks, Hope Church has ordered more face masks and should have them available for future services in case someone forgets to bring one or has need of one.

Dr. Al will not be required to wear a face mask while speaking but will adhere to wearing one when interacting with others. The worship team will not be required to wear masks while singing and/or playing instruments on the platform but will also be asked to adhere to wearing one when not on the platform. Paid employees and volunteers in other areas of the church such as tech team and children’s area will also be asked to wear a face mask while performing their duties.

The website has the executive order in detail if you would like to read the regulations.
